Sunday, August 8th's race course will be in Knight'sTerritory on  NDIsles!Â
Right smack in the middle at Scenic A1
Â
The plane will be the RV-8 with fuel set to .5 .
(type  '  .plane 89  '  in the hangar, then goto
tower, then back to hangar & it should be there!)

Racing Radio Frequency shall be 108
Â
Parade laps will start around 6pm EST. The brackets
will be set by 6:45pm EST. Starting promptly at 7pmÂ
EST.

Take off will be mass take off from the SE runway &
assemble in designated holding area South of the air-
field
Â
Competitors will be randomly paired up & bracketedÂ
before the race begins by Watchman.
Â
Each pair will be racing against each other and theÂ
winner of that bracket will be determined by theÂ
quickest time. The winner of each bracket will advance
to the next bracket.
Â
The event time keeper(the Watchman) will call eachÂ
racer onto the course by saying "Racer (name), you are
cleared to enter the SASFRAS Course,Good Luck!", atÂ
which time the racer will fly to the starting gate.
Â
Time will start when the racer has passed through theÂ
starting gate. Also the racer must turn smoke on &Â
announce "Smoke on" as they are entering the course.Â
Failure to do either of these will result in a time
penalty for each violation.
Â
The racer will navigate the course as quickly andÂ
correctly to have their time ended at the Finish gate.
Smoke being turned off, followed by the announcementÂ
of "smoke off" will symbolize the successfullÂ
completion of the course at the finnish gate.
Â
Each racer's time will be computed immediately afterÂ
the completed run and announced by the Watchman.
Â
The second competitor, of the pair, will be calledÂ
onto the course in the same manner as the first.

Â
1. Â When racer is announce onto the course, one at a
time, said pilot will proceed to the starting gateÂ
symbolized by the fire pillers formed by the SEÂ
fighter hangar & the fuel bunker. Our pilot must turnÂ
smoke on & announce "Smoke on". This will start theÂ
clock running.
Â
2. Â Once thru the Starting gate the racer will procede
to the next gate, which is formed by the Fuel bunker &
Ammo bunker fires, in between the NE runway & the EÂ
runway. Keeping the two pylons on you right wing as one
flys by, turn back 180 deg to fly between this gate.
Â
3. Â Once out of the first gate, make a left turn toÂ
procede to the next series of turn pylons.
Â
4. Â The NE fighter hangar, the bomber hangar, & theÂ
fuel bunker pylons will comprise the next section toÂ
navigate. Start by going left around the fighter hangar,
back right around the bomber hangar then left aroundÂ
the fuel bunker to line up for the next gate.
Â
5. Â Once the out of the triple, the racer needs toÂ
execute a LEFT knife-edge manuever between the pylonsÂ
at NW fighter & bomber angars.

6. Â The next turn pylon will be a long trek acroos the
field to the fighter & bomber hangar pylons on the SWÂ
end where the pilot will go through, perform a Half-
Cuban Eight move to position themselves to come back
through the gate and set our racer up to navigate theÂ
course in reverse

7. Â After penalties have been added in, the pilot that
was on the course will be told their time.

Notes:
The 'Watchman' Â has final say over the time of each
racer. Lag will not be considered in the finalÂ
assessment of overall time announcements
Â
A knife-edge manuever is accomplish by flying with the
wings perpindicular to the ground while in forwardÂ
motion. As a reference, level flight is when the wings
are parralel to the ground in forward motion.

Penalties:
Â
2 seconds for not turning smoke on
2 seconds for not announcing "Smoke on"
2 seconds for missing an obstacle
2 seconds for breaking altitude restrictions
2 seconds for high-sticking
2 seconds for not turning smoke off
2 seconds for not announcing "Smoke off"
Â
Disqualification:
Â
Crashing once will be at the mercy of your fellowÂ
racers to decide if you can proceed :)
Â
Crashing twice will disqualify a racer for that heat.
Â
5 minutes or more on the course will disqualify aÂ
racer for that heat.
Â
Entering course without knowledge or permission of the
watchman will disqualify the racer for the duration ofÂ
the race.
