Carriers: A New Dawn
After Pearl Harbor was bombed in December, the Pacific Fleet of the United States Navy mobilized and steamed to the Coral Sea. It was here and at Midway that the United States announced its presence to the Imperial Japanese Navy. What began as an attempt to capture Port Moresby evolved into a full-scale fleet battle. The first major carrier versus carrier operation took place on May 7-8 in the Coral Sea in 1942.
This event seeks to recreate the fierce fighting of those two days in 1942. The main objectives for both sides will be carriers and their fleets. Because of the success of the Americans in the Battle of the Coral Sea, the IJN’s capabilities at Midway were reduced.

1600lb and wing bombs disabled for SBD-5.
F4F and A6M ordnance will be disabled.

18K Fighter Alt Cap.
14K Alt Cap for Ordnance Carrying aircraft.
Non-target CV routes will be set by Admin.
CV’s are 4K hardness, All other ships are 1k hardness.
Each side may take any mix of attack planes equal to 24 minimum.

SBD’s, B5N’s, and D3A’s will be worth 0 points as kills. Kills of fighters (F4F and A6M) will be counted, however.
Each side will have a total of 2 CV’s to destroy and 17 ships in all to destroy over the course of the 3 frames.
