The Tiger's Cage: Burma 1942
In late 1941, Japan invaded British-controlled Burma. After Rangoon fell, the British army started their retreat from Burma, which sparked the longest geographical retreat in British history. The retreat was conducted under horrible circumstances as they struggled to fall back to India. All the while, the Japanese were pressing the British and Chinese troops as they attempted to cut off their routes.
The AVG was involved in assisting the British in terms of air cover with P-40s, along with the RAF’s Hurricanes. Meanwhile, the Japanese Army Air Force and Navy continued to press the retreat, creating the air battles over Burma.
This FSO aims to re-create the British withdrawl from Burma after Japan’s initial invasion.
