2020 Winners and Rabbits

2020

January-
I was optimistic seeing 10 people on the roster for January KOTH and then at 10 pm reality set in. We flew for 75 minutes and had 5 rounds. We had 11 people flying as I made the mistake of flying again and we only had 1 wabbit who got a natural, three rounds in a row, win.
-{S}- and Congratulations to Wiley for the win. The F4U -1 was chosen for February's first ride.

Round by round results:
1} Picko in a F4U-1
2} Lazer in a Ki-61-
3} Wiley in a P-38G
4} Wiley in a P-47D-11   {Wabbit}
5} Wiley wins in a I-16

Wiley earns the first TOC reservation of 2020.
NO top five killers as logs are in the ether because I forgot to run them, but heck...

February -
I think if I really went verbose on the results it might take longer to read them that the event lasted. It was a three and out with the winner comming to play in his chariot of batle.

February's KOTH A only lasted fourty minutes with seven people flying. The minimum rounds were flown with a single wabbit and Krupnski came out on top with the victory. -{S}- and Congratulations to Krupnski for the resounding win.
The P-51D was chosen for March's first chariot of battle. On the plus side, no other events were run at the same time as KOTH was this month.
Wabbit hunting classes will be held upstairs in the ladies rest room.

Round by round results:
1} Krupnski IN a F4U-1
2} Krupnskiin a P-38L {Wabbit}
3} Krupnski wins in a P-51D

Krupnski earns the second invitation to the 2020 TOC. Only two so far in two events will mean a lean TOC.
Top killers were Krupnski- 8, Eagler-5, JeffN and Shady-2.

Many congratulations already in the Dates thread.

March-
After two KOTHs we didn't have any wabbits. The third made up for that with five. In some aspects it was your average KOTH and others a KOTH to remember.
Attendance was about normal with only 10 people taking off. It surely was longer than usual running 2.5 hours long, sort of expected with 5 wabbits. And if it ran that long we of course had quite a few rounds with eleven. As mentioned we had 5 wabbits with just about everyone but me flying around with bunny ears sticking out of their cockpits.  :neener:
The February Skool Of Wabbit Hunting turned out a good class! Makes me regret last months comment on it  :embarrassed: or the ladies rest room was crowded   :rofl
Not sure if we had many VR players before but Sawzaw was using Oculus and won the first two rounds which usually ends up in a long night of 'everybody's against me' fights.
JeffN said he had a poor showing last month and wanted redemption. Well, he got it! Congratulations and -{S}- to JeffN for winning March's KOTH A. The Bf 109F-4 was chosen for April's event.

Round by round results:
1} Sawzaw in a P-51D
2} Sawzaw in a Bf 109K-4   {Wabbit}

Top killers were Pacifis2-14, JeffN-10, Sawzaw-9, HORRIDO1-6.

April-
April saw another good KOTH in SEA II with attendance a little more than normal, while in other respects it was status quo. We did start off with 17 people flying which is a bit more than normal. We did have for the first time an arena message in the main arena. I know that needs some work and it will be more readable next time. We again broke the two hour mark going 2 hours 45 minutes. We did only get two wabbits but had nine rounds. Congratulations and -{S}- to Limbo0 for the victory. The D3A1 was chosen for May's first chariot of battle.

Round by round results:
1} Violator in a Bf 109F-4
2} Violator in a FM2   {WABBIT}
3} moose1 in a C.202
4} Limbo0 in a F4U-4

May-
May KOTH broke the three hour mark for the first time that I can remember, which isn't too far but what the heck. A few things I remember from the event was the energy fighting D3A1 in the first round. Don't see that everyday. I have been timing the rounds from take off to when we have a winner and someone commented that of that round length of 17 minutes, they had a 1v1 fight going for about 10 of the 17. You certainly get some epic dog fights in KOTH and we roughly had a kill every second minute of the event.
We had a good turnout with 15 people and as mentioned we broke 3 hour for the first time I can think of going 3 hours and 15 minutes. We had 11 rounds and 4 wabbits although our first two had to leave the event, possibly to get their teeth sharpened? Eagler came through and won his third round during our 11th and won the event. Congratulations and -{S}- to Eagler for winning May's KOTH A. The Bf 109E-4 was chosen for June's first chariot of battle.

Round by round results:
1} JeffN  in a D3A1
2} Simon in a Bf 109E-4
3} Simon in a F4U-1A   {Wabbit}
4} ULDutchV in a Brewster B-239
5} ULDutchV in a I-16   {Wabbit}
6} TC in a Bf 110G-2
7} Eagler in a C.202
8} Eagler in a Bf 109F-4   {Wabbit}
9} JeffN in a FM2   {Wabbit}
10} Jay12 in a Spitfire Mk. I
11} Eagler wins in a Spitfire Mk. V

Eagler, JeffN, Simon, ULDutchV all earn reservations to the TOC.
Top killers were Eagler-15, JeffN-13, TC-11, ULDutchV-9, Simon-6.
Logs can be found at http://ahevents.net/index.php/event-logs

June-
June KOTH looked like it was going to sail through the two hour break and continue to have great dog fights past 11 pm. That look needed glasses though as the 7th round came down to a battle of wabbits, ending the round and event. We flew for two hours and had seven rounds as mentioned. Numbers were good with 15 and we had three wabbits. We did have a few new faces which is always good and they had a good time. Maybe a few of them showed up for our initial monthly main arena perk prize. Congratulations and -{S}- to Krupnski for the win. Krupnski chose the P-51B for July's chariot of battle, which will be 12 July... a Sunday, and also chose 500 fighter perks in the main arena.

Round by round results;
1} Krupnski in a Bf 109F-4
2} Krupnski in a Spitfire Mk. V   {Wabbit}
3} Sukov in a Yak-9T

Results have also started to be posted again on the AH Events site.

July-
July KOTH was under two hours and we flew six rounds. We had 14 people flying in the event and 2 wabbits. Lazer pulled it out in the end so -{S}- and Congratulations to Lazer for winning and he chose the C.202 for August's first ride.

Round by round results:
1} Simon in a P-51B
2} Simon in a F4U-1A   {Wabbit}

August-
August KOTH attendance slipped to barely playable attendance but those who did had a great time. We only had seven people flying And we only had one wabbit the whole night, well two actually with Mindy's co-pilot, Jelly Bean, most likely in attendance. The event was less than two hours long and we only had five rounds.
Congratulations and a crisp -{S}- go to Eagler for another win. The Bf 109F-4 was chosen for September's first chariot of battle.

Logs can be found at http://ahevents.net/index.php/event-logs along with results.

Had to double check this as I found myself putting in July's results at first and not August. Don't think I can get away with' I needed another cup of coffee' for that at 6 pm.

September-
Another month where we barely had enough for a good event. The event lasted just over an hour and we had six rounds. We had ten people at the start but that dwindled to six for much of the event. We did manage to get two wabbits and of the two Rud3boi pulled out the win. Congratulations and -{S}- to Rud3boi for the win. The Bf 110G-2 was chosen for October's first chariot of battle.

Round by round results:
1} Rud3boi in a Bf 109F-4

5} Eagler in a Bf 109G-2   {Wabbit}
6} Rud3boi wins in a FM2.

TOC reservations earned by Rud3boi and Eagler, who had already earned their spot.
I forgot to run logs but looked at my films to come up with some numbers. They are NOT accurate but the way people exit a fight is becoming rather pathetic. Some KOTHers like to see those numbers and it only takes a small effort to exit in a quicker fashion. For what it's worth here are the totals.
Top five kill totals were: Eagler-8, Rud3boi-7, Wiley-4, and HORRIDO1 and Owl-2

October-
October's KOTH was lightly attended as seems the trend lately. We did almost get to the two hour break with eight rounds but only had 8 people show up and that resulted in only 1 wabbit, who of course went on to win.
Congratulations and -{S}- to Eagler for the win and he chose the Bf 109G-2 for next month's first chariot of battle.

Round by round results:
1} Eagler in a Bf 110G-2
2} Eagler in a Bf 109F-4   {Wabbit}
3} Stretch in a Spitfire Mk. V
4} TC in a Mosquito Mk. VI
5} HORRIDO1 in a C.202
6} AKDogg in a FM2
7} trogdor in a F4U-1

TOC reservations for our one wabbit, Eagler.

Logs can be found at http://ahevents.net/index.php/event-logs along with results.

November-
November was your generic KOTH going just over ninety minutes with only 6 rounds. We had 15 folks flying, including the host for the first time in a while, with our single wabbit winning it, of course.

Logs can be found at http://ahevents.net/index.php/event-logs along with results.
November's average KOTH round lasted 11 minutes or so.

December-
2020 KOTH year wrapped up with the running of December's event with the TOC closing it out with our Champion in January. We did hit the two hour mark with nine rounds but a break was not necessary. A field of ten or so competed and we had three wabbits trying to win this one.
Congratulations and -{S}- to Owl for winning the event. The F4U-1A was chosen as the first chariot of Battle for 2021.
